About the Gardener

Hi,

I’m Beth.  I live in a small, historic city in Alabama where we have everything from antebellum homes to alligators.  I LOVE to garden!  It’s my passion!  In addition to gardening, I am a serious home chef, a watercolorist, photographer wannabe and traveler (my husband says I’m a serious shopper too. ;-)  All I have to say about the shopping is that the flowers have to have their Miracle Grow.  This blog will be full of blooms, and posts of the plant world with the occasional “intermission” posts about:

  • The cakes I bake
  • The friends I make
  • The trips I take
  • The paintings I paint
  • My son (I threaten him with “I’ll blog about you.” … he doesn’t mind.  At least he’s not worried about being sold on eBay anymore.)  Don’t worry about him; he’s a well adjusted adult now.

Back to gardening, daylilies are my favorite garden flower (some say I have too many ;-).  I don’t think so.  Is 152 too many?  Other daylily addicts out there know what I’m talkin’ about (had to say talkin’ since I’m a Deep South gardener).  Daylilies are followed closely by tall bearded irises on my favorites list.  I love all flowers though so you’ll see lots of them, but there will always be a thread of daylilies woven throughout this blog.

Through Daylily Soup, I hope to meet other gardeners, flower lovers, plant lovers, or those who happened to stumble upon this blog and are even slightly interested.  I also hope we can all share our knowledge, experiences, projects and laughs.  The laughs part is the most important!  I can sometimes be the Lucille Ball of gardening, so there are plenty of laughs around here.  My blog is a work in progress as is my garden.  I hope you’ll join me on my adventures.  I have lots of them right outside the back door.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by,

Beth

P.S.  I love comments.  They’re like blooms in a blog.

    3. Hi Lorraine,
I just sent an email to you at gardenwrite@yahoo.com. Here's my email address as well: daylilysoup@gmail.com. I'm going to create a "Contact Me" page when I finish this comment. I should have done that long ago - my husband has been telling me I should. Look forward to hearing from you. I'm curious about your request. :-)
