Good Morning, Sunshine!

Lately, I've been snapping photos of the beautiful sunrises from our deck overlooking the garden (had to mention the garden).  I'd like to share some of Mother Nature's masterpieces with you along with some favorite sunrise quotes and rhymes.  Please join me on a February sunrise tour if you have a moment.  Here we go:

"Red sky at night,
Sailor's delight;
Red sky at morning,
Sailor's warning."
- Ancient Mariner's Rhyme

"What is the good of your stars and trees,
your sunrise and the wind,
if they do not enter into our daily lives?"  - E. M. Foster

"Climb up on some hill at sunrise.
Everybody needs perspective once in a while,
and you'll find it there."  - Robb Sagendorph

Until next time, let's keep on shining. :-)

  1. Beth, your sunrises inspire. I hope that photographing them gives you a fine start to your day. Too, I suspect the act of making each image helps you stop and concentrate more deliberately on nature's beauty.

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed the sunrises, Lee. Yes, stopping to appreciate and photograph them really does give my day a special start. My life is too rushed lately (job related), so it does help to find those stolen moments to just enjoy something special, such as a beautiful sunrise. Please stay tuned for more sunrise photos to come. Thanks for stopping by. :-)

  2. Beth, these are beautiful pictures, I hope the days went on just as beautifully. If you have any spare sunshine, please put it in an envelope and post it to me here in London, I have had more than enough of muggy weather. Last night we even got more snow...
    Take care, Helene.

    1. Hi Helene, I'm so glad you enjoyed the pictures. Yes, those days did go on to be beautiful days in many ways. Well, we just lost our sunshine to muggy weather as well. I'm sure we'll get it back soon, and I'll see what I can do about sending a little sunshine your way. Wishing you warm, sunny weather soon. Hopefully, bloom season will be here before we know it. Thanks for stopping by. :-)

  3. It would be most delightful to have the view of the brilliant sunrise while having breakfast on your deck. What a great way to start the day. I remember being taught the Ancient Mariner's Rhyme during my secondary school days. I thought it was such a desolate piece then.

    1. Hi Stiletto, Yes, we've had many enjoyable meals on the deck. It also overlooks the main daylily bed. :-) I'm certainly glad I wasn't out to sea when I spotted the first sunset. Thanks for stopping by. :-)

  4. Beautiful! I get up before the sun rises, but rarely look outside that early. Your post tells me I am missing a lot! I also love the silhouette of the trees against the sky.

    1. Thank you, Holley. I'm glad you enjoyed the sunrises. Now that I've started snapping photos of them, I've become a regular on the deck at daybreak. To begin with, I wished I had a clear shot of the sunrises, but I have learned to appreciate the trees in the photos too. So glad you stopped by. :-)
